Iacopo Carreras is U-Hopper Founder and Chief Technology Officer. He received a Ph.D. in computer science and an M.Sc. degree in telecommunications engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 2001 and2007, respectively. From 2000 to 2001, Dr. Carreras worked in the Telecommunications Networks Group at theBerlin University of Technology, and from 2001 to 2003, he worked as a software engineer at Netikos (TelecomItalia Group). In 2003, he joined the iNSPIRE (Networking and Security Solutions for Pervasive ComputingSystems: Research & Experimentation) group at CREATE-NET research centre, where he led the mobile computing Technical Group. His expertise spans the areas of pervasive and mobile computing, experimentally-driven research, autonomic networking with a specific focus in the areas of performance evaluation, large-scale networks, and complex systems.He has coauthored more than 50 papers in international journals and conference and workshop proceedings. Dr.Carreras also plays a regular role in organizing and serving on the steering and program committees of conferencesand workshops organized by ICST, IEEE, and ACM in the field of mobile computing.

Diego Taglioni
Diego Taglioni, Chief Financial Officer and Co-Founder,, started his career at Finmeccanica Group, (Italian conglomerate with focus on ITC and defence industries) as R&D professional, where he published also international patents and subsequently as marketing product manager for wireless networks and end-to-end application in the civilian sector for major accounts, including telecom operators and service/content providers. After this period he had opportunities to get a work experience with international exposure at NTT DoCoMo where he actively worked at the development of location based services onto the i-mode. From 2001 up to 2006 he had then worked at WIND Telecomunicazioni from 2001 as handset manager and senior alliance manager (in charge of international alliances and chairman of the working groups for the coordination of common marketing and procurement issues within the alliance including, besides Wind, the following operators:Telefonica Moviles (Spain), O2 Group (UK), Bouygues Telecom (France), Telenor (Norway), Sunrise (Switzerland) and One (Austria). From 2006 at present he has worked as consultant for major fixd telcos and retailers for the start-up of Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) business. He also has worked for the technology transfer activities into supporting the Italian research centro of telecommunication CREATE-NET. Diego Taglioni has master science (MSc.) degree in physics at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and master of business administration (MBA) at SDA Bocconi, one of the major business school in Europe. Daniele Miorandi
Daniele Miorandi is Chief R&D Officer of U-Hopper. He received a PhD in Communications Engineering from Univ. of Padova, Italy, in 2005, and a Laurea degree (summa cum lauda) in Communications Engineering from Univ. of Padova, Italy, in 2001. In 2005 he joined CREATE-NET as Head of the iNSPIRE (Networking and Security Solutions for Pervasive Computing Systems: Research & Experimentation) Area. Dr. Miorandi has extensive experience in European-scale cooperative projects. In particular, he has acted as Project Manager and Scientific Coordinator of the BIONETS Project (FP6, IP), as Technical/Scientific Coordinator of the SUPERHUB Project (FP7, IP), as WP Leader in the ComplexEnergy Project (FP7, SSA) and Steering Committee representative in the EPIWORK project (FP7, IP). Dr. Miorandi has co-authored more than 100 papers in internationally refereed journals and conferences. He serves on the Steering Committee of various international events (WiOpt, Autonomics, ValueTools), for some of which he was a co-founder (Autonomics and ValueTools). He also serves on the TPC of leading conferences in the networking field, including, e.g., IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE ICC, IEEE Globecom. He is a member of IEEE, ACM and EAI. At U-Hopper he is in charge of leading and coordinating research and development activities, intended to put U-Hopper at the forefront of technological innovation in the mobile computing field. He is also responsible for coordinating the participation of U-Hopper to cooperative research projects.
