Hi Davaa, where do you come from?
I come from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, where I received my bachelor’s degree and got a first work experience. I have also spent few years studying and working in South Korea. In October, I moved to Trento, where I am now working in U-Hopper. And at the same time I am enrolled at University of Rennes-1 in France, where I am pursuing a PhD in computer science within the FogGuru project .
What did you do before being recruited in FogGuru? What’s your academic background?
Before joining the FogGuru project, I have been working as a full stack developer, and a research engineer in WikiSecurity, an SME specialized in providing IT security solutions. In terms of academic background, I completed my Bachelor in Software engineering in
National University of Mongolia
in 2012 and received a Master in Computer and Information Engineering from
INHA University
in 2017.
Why did you choose to apply to a FogGuru’s position?
The FogGuru project represented a perfect opportunity for me. First, because the topic was very appealing to me. Second, I liked the idea of combining a PhD with industry experience in a high-tech company: this would allow me to collaborate with, and learn from highly-skilled professionals, while sharpening both my industrial and academic skills. Also by participating in this project, I strongly believe that we can make significant innovations in the cloud computing field, thereby contributing to the progress of society and economy.
What’s your PhD subject about?
My PhD research topic is creating scalable data pipelines for processing IoT data over fog computing infrastructures; the objectives are to design, prototype and experimentally validate a data pipeline framework. The data pipeline will expose a set of APIs enabling the quick development and deployment of IoT-driven smart city services, and will be empirically validated in the Valencia Living Lab.
What are you planning to do after obtaining your PhD?
My short-term plan after PhD is to become an expert in Fog & Cloud Computing, and work in the R&D department of high-tech industry, where I can offer my skills and interest. In a long-term I’m planning to become an entrepreneur, and at the same time contribute with my skills and expertise to making a better world!
Thank you for the interview and good luck!
